Originally designed in the mid 1960's by NASA for passenger comfort and safety, memory foam bed toppers have seen a gradual increase in their sales as more and more people discover not only their unique feel and sturdiness, but also their springy protection. They mold themselves to the sleeper's body, and as the position of the sleeper changes, they gradually spring back to their original shape. This quality of the memory foam bed topper makes it ideal for people who have fit full sleep, people with back and spinal problems.

The mattress topper comes in various sizes and dimensions. The popular dimensions have been given names like Twin, Full, King, Queen, and Cal. While giving a luxurious sleep, it is also dust mite resistant, antimicrobial, anti bacterial, and even temperature sensitive. All these qualities help in inducing a flotation effect. However, every memory bed topper differs from the others. Here are a few things that you should keep in mind while picking one up.

• Pick the right size. This is the first consideration when it comes to buying a memory foam bed topper. The topper should fit your bed properly, and as the topper will sit flush on your bed, make sure you have the right dimensions that your bed doesn't look uneven. The memory foam toppers are sold in sizes of Twin, Full, King, Queen, and California King.

• Select the right density. Density is the weight of one cubic foot of the mattress. This is equal to the 'memory' your topper will contain. Toppers with high density will respond better to body weight, supply better protection, and are more durable. People usually pick toppers of 3 pounds, but those with back and joint problems will need a 4 pound topper.

• Choose the right thickness. These toppers are usually sold in thicknesses of 1,2,3, and 4 inches. While toppers with 2 inches will make you quite comfortable, those with higher thickness will make you bed feel different and new.

The bedroom is a private place where we are supposed to be ourselves and be comfortable. Ironically, though, many of us are deprived of this comfort for several reasons.

There’s when sleep evades us, which is a sleep disorder called insomnia. There are several factors that contribute to insomnia, and research has it that one of them is our bed. If our bed size does not complement our size, sleeping movements and habits, sleep is likely to evade us. There are several bed sizes in the market, and many of us are actually clueless as to what they are or how different they are from one another.

Twin beds are the most common beds for kids. It is otherwise known as single bed. Simply, twin beds are a pair of 2 identical beds. Many parents prefer this bed size because it’s space saving. Twin bed dimensions are basically 39” wide and 75” long. Because of this size, they easily fit in small bedrooms for young children. In addition, because of the twin bed dimensions, buying bed sheets for a twin bed won’t be pricey.

Many twin bed beddings come in different patterns, designs and colors. For teenagers, twin extra long beds are 5” longer than the standard twin bed, and are therefore the beds commonly used in college dorms and are more suitable for taller teens. However, twin bed dimensions don’t complement the size of that a regular adult. Thus most adults prefer a king size bed or a queen size bed.

Ensuring a good night sleep may depend on a lot of factors, and undeniably, bed size is one of them. If you’re a kid or a regular teen, a twin bed is just right for you. But if you are an adult or a teen taller than most, and you use a teen bed, chances are sleep will not be that good.

I like sleeping. A good night’s sleep is equally as important as a very fruitful day. Devoting a very large amount of time on one and disregarding the other is just plain unhealthy. By depriving yourself of a good night’s sleep, you effectively diminish the chance of having more fruitful days ahead of you.

I like sleeping, and I totally adore my bed.

I have a single bed, which, weirdly, is also called a twin bed. I’ve had it since I was younger. I’ve grown so used to it, and the bed has aged perfectly, conforming to my sleeping habit and positions.

My twin bed, others say, is a bit small and narrow. It may appear so, but as I have mentioned, the bed and I have aged together well. Besides, my room is not that big, so the twin bed dimensions fit my bedroom space perfectly.

I’m really not a fan of big-sized beds. A king size bed or a queen size bed can be comfortable, it’s so wide that it takes forever to get to the edge of the bed to get to the bathroom.

My twin bed has a kick-ass headboard, really snazzy. Some people overlook the aesthetics of their headboard. I don’t. My twin bed headboard dimensions are just the right size for my bedroom. They complement my personality. They offer functionality and style.

My headboard has a storage area. This storage area is just right above my head, within reach. It can accommodate a few shirts and things, and it can also accommodate some books. I like to read a little before going to sleep, you see.

As I have mentioned, it’s very snazzy, too. You see, I salvaged a heavily designed pair of doors and used it as part of my headboard. I had parts of it upholstered while the parts with the carvings are showing.

So, above me, I have my storage place and then behind it are the two doors with carvings upholstered in some parts.

Some call it weird, but I call it snazzy.
